Winter Resin Curing Guide for Tall & Thick Molds: G3 Curing Solutions

Winter Resin Curing Guide for Tall & Thick Molds: G3 Curing Solutions

Cold weather makes resin thicker and harder to work with—especially for tall or deep molds. This winter guide shows a practical workflow centered on the G3 Curing Machine with extender, and integrates the Resin Warmer, AirLess Pro Bubble Remover, Handheld Mixer, and Resin Starter Kits so you can ship clear, bubble-free pieces before the New Year.

Why winter is harder

Lower temp → higher viscosity, trapped bubbles;

Thick molds → internal heat build-up → flash curing or uneven cure;

One-line takeaway

Warm the resin, remove the air, then cure gently and evenly—done right, tall molds are not a winter problem.

Step 1 — Preheat (Smart Resin Warmer) — 10 min

Warm bottles to ~35–40°C to lower viscosity and let bubbles escape more easily.

Step 2 — Mix (Handheld Mixer)

Mix slowly, use LED to inspect. For bulk jobs use 700ml cups.

Step 3 — Degas (Bubble Remover) — 1–3 min

Remove microbubbles before pouring—critical for thick molds.

Step 4 — Pour

Consider layered pours for very thick sections; avoid single very thick pour.

Step 5 — Cure in G3 + Silicone Rubber Extender

Why extender? It expands G3’s usable volume so tall molds fit and get even heat.

1.Use Flat Mode for short/flat pieces (steady temp ~60°C).

2.Use Tall Mode + extender for tall molds (staged heating to prevent flash cure).

3.Monitor through semi-transparent lid; follow cool-down stage before demold.
